Have your been racking your brains trying to think of what you will do with your family on the weekend of July 4th this summer? Well, there are plenty of awesome activities for you and your family to do together you just have to get thinking! I'll take the liberty of getting you on your way to making a decision with these fantastic holiday weekend activity ideas!
.) A regular old Fourth of July BBQ could be a great family activity! While you grill up the grub the kids can play in the yard! Make sure to get plenty of snacks like chips, dip, and pretzels for everybody to eat while you hang outdoors. Must have foods for a stellar BBQ are definitely hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and ribs so make sure you have them all. Set up some horse shoes for the adults to play and get the soccer ball out or set up some volleyball for the kids!
.) Head out to see a baseball game! Chances are you are within an hour or two of either an MLB ballpark or a Minor League affiliate team so take your pick of the two. Baseball is America's past time after all, and the 4th of July is about as American as it gets as far as holiday's are concerned. Make a day of it and go to the game early and tailgate it! Bring a portable grill and snacks and hang out.
.) Gather up the gang and take them to see some fireworks! It's pretty much a given that on the weekend of the fourth there will be some sort of firework festivities going on nearby your home. Usually these shows are free as well so check local newspapers or local news sites and find out when you can see a show. Grab some lawn chairs or even just a blanket and take the whole family to see the fireworks.
.) Have a family movie weekend! If you get stuck indoors due to some not so great, holiday weekend weather don't get bummed out. You and your family can still have a great time together indoors for the weekend. Make some popcorn and have everybody pick out a movie they want to watch. This can make for a really nice variety of movies and it also makes everybody feel special.
.) Go to the beach! Even though you will most likely have to fight the crowds to get down to the shore there is no better way to spend the Fourth of July weekend than by sitting on the beach. The kids can swim and play in the sand, while you relax in a beach chair and take in some rays. Rent bikes for the whole family so that you won't have to deal with beach traffic, and also for some great exercise and family bonding time. The options are endless at the beach when its nice out, and who knows maybe you'll luck out and get to see a beach fireworks show if you play your cards right!
